Our client, a leading UK energy assessor company, is seeking a talented Software Application Lead to oversee and develop their software applications team.
About the Role
As the Software Application Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing the software applications team to ensure the effective delivery, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s software products. You will play a pivotal role in managing software projects, driving quality assurance, and fostering collaboration between development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders. This hands-on leadership position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and team management skills.
What You Can Expect to Do in the Role
1. Lead and develop the software applications team, ensuring effective collaboration, workload management, and professional growth.
2. Support and oversee software projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality applications that meet business and regulatory standards.
3. Manage budgets and maintain strong relationships with software partners, including license and support agreements.
4. Maintain test environments to facilitate development, testing, and deployment activities.
5. Ensure smooth software deployments with minimal downtime and user disruption.
6. Continuously evaluate and improve existing applications, driving innovation within the team.
7. Ensure applications and architecture adhere to security best practices, safeguarding data and maintaining compliance.
8. Act as a key liaison between IT and business teams to align software solutions with organizational objectives.
9. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to resolve complex issues efficiently.
10. Promote a culture of learning, mentorship, and professional development within the team.

5. Familiarity with software testing frameworks and best practices.
Preferred:
1. Experience working in a similar role within an IT/software environment.
2. Knowledge of tools such as Azure DevOps, SQL, IIS, Tortoise SVN, and Postman API testing.
3. Background in managing both software testing and deployment processes.
