Our client, a leading name in the food and FMCG sector, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician / Senior QA Technician for their Hull facility.
This newly created role will make you an integral part of the site Quality leadership team, focusing on Food Safety, Quality and reliable data to support plant operations.
Working closely with the QA Manager, you will liaise with stakeholders, collaborate across functions to enhance quality standards, and contribute to production reviews, quality monitoring, and improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Work with the QA Manager to ensure the smooth running of the site Quality Control Laboratory to support plant operations effectively.
* Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of analytical and sensory quality data.
* Oversee laboratory equipment, maintenance, calibration, and consumables management.
* Drive training programs for laboratory personnel to maintain high performance standards.
* Monitor compliance with GLP, safety protocols, and company standards.
* Generate and analyse quality data, providing timely feedback and reports to stakeholders.
* Manage quality plans, including CTQs and CCPs, to support continuous improvement.
* Participate in HACCP team activities and cross-functional quality discussions.
* Address customer complaints, liaise with suppliers, and maintain professional relationships.
* Support the internal program to promote a zero-defect culture and reduce waste.
* Lead laboratory-based problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
* Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and foster team development and morale.
What You’ll Need:
* Ideally educated to Degree or Diploma level in a science-related field.
* Proven experience in laboratory and quality assurance roles– ideally 3 years +
* Knowledge of ISO 17025 and HACCP Level 2 preferred
* Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices.
* Strong analytical skills and familiarity with GLP and safety protocols.
* Effective communicator with the ability to deputise for the departmental manager.
* Experience in driving continuous improvement and problem-solving.
* Proficient in data tools (such as Excel).
