What You Will Do:
1. Family Safeguarding: Provide essential support and intervention for families at risk.
2. Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with adult practitioners to devise and implement strategic safeguarding plans.
3. Case Management: Conduct thorough assessments to identify family strengths, risks, and requirements.
4. Risk Assessment and Intervention: Carry out regular risk assessments to ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
5. Supervision and Mentorship: Offer guidance and supervision to junior practitioners and social workers.
6. Multi-Agency Working: Engage with healthcare, education, housing, and other agencies.
7. Report Writing and Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of casework, interventions, and risk assessments.
8. Safeguarding Focus: Lead the team in promoting safeguarding policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience in safeguarding and family support within children's social care or a similar setting is essential.
2. A degree in social work or equivalent qualification, with HCPC or a similar professional body registration.
3. In-depth understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices.
4. Strong communication skills to engage with professionals, families, and vulnerable individuals.
5. Proven leadership and mentoring experience within a social care environment.
6. A steadfast commitment to child protection and family welfare.
Additional Information:
This temporary role is embedded in the Family Safeguarding team in the North locality. You will work collaboratively in a hybrid model.
