Contract Type: Fixed term, term-time only
Salary Range: £24,790 FTE (£12,907 actual salary)
Hours: 22.2 hours a week (5hrs per day with 30mins break)
(Monday-Friday 1100 – 1600)
These times are desirable but for the right candidate different hours are negotiable
We are seeking a resilient, versatile and personable colleague to join our administration team at SGS Forest High School in Cinderford in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Forest High School has engaged with some of the best learning providers in the county to establish a rich, expertise curriculum and to support classroom teaching.
The School Administration team play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the school, serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including financial support, managing communication, maintaining records, providing first aid care, and supporting the overall administrative functions of the school.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Manage reception as first point of contact greeting parents/carers visitors and students in a professional, friendly manner.
2. Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and handling enquiries promptly and efficiently.
3. Assist with the enrolment process, including handling applications, scheduling tours, and providing information to prospective families.
4. Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, room bookings and school events for staff and visiting outside agencies.
5. Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, scheduling interviews and maintaining applicant records.
6. Take minutes and record actions during important meetings.
7. Assist with processing payments, invoices, financial reports and documentation for audits
8. Provide administrative support to the school leadership team, including drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and managing calendars.
9. To assist with the promotion and coordination of school activities, monthly newsletters, parent’s evenings, conferences, open evenings and school functions.
10. Monitor office/school supplies, ordering and restocking as needed.
11. Manage and oversee the requests for printed materials, ensuring deadlines are met for projects and teaching materials for staff and students. Maintain an organised system for storing and retrieving printed material sending notification ‘ready for collection.’
12. Handle incoming and outgoing mail/parcels, including sorting, distributing and posting.
13. Ensure school’s first aid supplies are well-stocked and up to date. Perform monthly checks/logs on school defibrillator.
14. Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the Administration Manager to support the school’s operations.
