Applications are invited for a full time permanent post for a Senior Biomedical Scientist; in this post we are looking for an individual to join our team, working in a busy department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which provides a full range of diagnostic pathology services to NHS Tayside.
Dundee is known as the 'City of Discovery' for its culture, which includes the spectacular new V&A design museum on Dundee's Riverside.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a busy diagnostic department, undertaking 25,000 surgical and autopsy pathology requests per annum, along with 2000 diagnostic cytology cases.
Our Department is friendly and well resourced. We have a supportive modernizing leadership team with developments in digital pathology, BMS role extension, including histological specimen dissection.
Applicants must hold HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist and hold an IBMS accredited MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent. They must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development and flexibility in approach.
The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake extensive training and completion of competence based assessments.
The Department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science as a training laboratory for pre and post registration.
The Department is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory No. 8682.
Hours of work are: 37 per week.
