Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Test Lead to join our team in London (with hybrid working available and could base the role at our Basildon office alternatively) to drive the quality strategy for our new Field Service Management (FSM) and scheduling platform, part of an exciting and substantial programme. In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering robust, scalable QA solutions including automated testing frameworks, while mentoring a talented team of QA engineers. You’ll work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure end-to-end quality across all project phases, from design to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and own the overall QA strategy and testing roadmap for the FSM and scheduling systems, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical requirements, and delivery timelines.
* Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks and scripts, enhancing test efficiency, accuracy, and coverage across key components of whole programme.
* Lead the execution of thorough end-to-end functional and regression testing for all FSM features, scheduling algorithms, and integrations—both new and legacy systems.
* Drive performance and load testing initiatives, assess system responsiveness and scalability under varied conditions, and deliver comprehensive reports with optimisation recommendations.
* Identify potential security vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support remediation efforts to maintain a secure and resilient digital platform.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to define UAT scenarios, coordinate test sessions, create scripts, and capture feedback to inform final system refinements before go-live.
* Define and track key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect rates, pass/fail ratios), providing senior leadership with regular insights, dashboards, and a final QA sign-off.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing QA team, promoting a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and innovation in testing practices.
* Work closely with developers, architects, analysts, and project managers to ensure shared understanding of quality goals, timely issue resolution, and cohesive project delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a QA/Test Lead on complex digital transformation or enterprise-level software projects.
* Strong expertise in automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
* Hands-on experience with performance/load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing into agile development workflows.
* Familiarity with Field Service Management systems and scheduling logic is a strong advantage.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience leading, mentoring, and developing QA teams in fast-paced environments.
