Join our team to help build a better, more sustainable world for future generations The opportunity The role of a Sales Support Engineer is to provide technical and commercial sales support for switchgear and controls products for Europe and Asia regions. This includes assisting outside sales personnel and dealers with product application, and quotation support. You will work on a team with other Sales Support Engineers who perform the same role for their assigned regions. You will manage the completion of work assignments and coordinate closely with outside sales to support the dealers. What you will do: Recognize which products should be offered based on the customer's request for quote. Review customer drawings and specifications and provide clarifications, exceptions, and deviations as required with bids. Use design configurators to build conceptual switchgear layouts to feed the costing tool. Request quotes from different vendors as required for ancillary equipment as needed. Use costing tools to provide costing for custom applications. Develop sales proposals. As quotes become orders, create the order entry tasks necessary to facilitate the transfer of the project to the project execution teams. Product Design and Development - Level Extensive Experience: Ability to design, build, and develop a solution from concept through to proposal - specifically automated controls and switchgear. Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness. Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems. Analytical Thinking - Level Extensive Experience: Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research. Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action. Effective Communications: - Level Extensive Experience: Adapts documents and presentations with dealers and/or customers. Communicate effectively at all levels of the business. Managing Multiple Priorities - Level Extensive Experience: Effectively manage multiple sales opportunities and deadlines. Addresses potential conflicts that impact current delivery commitments. Responds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work. Demonstrates an expectation that there will be ongoing shifts in demands and priorities. Education: A degree in an accredited engineering, management, marketing, or related program or equivalent experience working in an engineering or technical function.
