Restorative Justice Practice Supervisor – Children Services – Croydon Council
Salary: Grade 12 £47,040 - £49,083

Job Purpose
This is a leadership post to develop, support and coordinate the use of a range of direct and indirect restorative approaches for use within Croydon YJS. The successful candidate will supervise, line manage and coordinate and oversee Restorative Justice work providing monthly supervision, yearly appraisals and ongoing advice, information, guidance and support. As one of the responsibilities of newly appointed candidate, you will oversee the involvement of and work with victims as required and allocate victim work appropriately. As a Restorative Justice Practice Supervisor, you will recruit, train and manage a group of specialist Restorative Justice Workers and volunteers. The scope of the post requires the post holder to have extensive knowledge and practical experience of dealing with victims of crime and restorative approaches.
Essential Requirements
1. Extensive knowledge plus recent practical experience of a variety of restorative approaches.
2. In-depth knowledge of the Victim Code of Practice and its relevance to the work of the Youth Justice Service.
3. To be accredited by a nationally recognised organisation / agency to be able to facilitate complex restorative justice conferences and / or other restorative meetings involving contact between the victim and offender.
4. Ability to build good working relationships and engage young people, their families, victims of crime and Youth Offender Panel members.
5. Ability to quality assure direct and indirect RJ processes and manage staff effectively.
6. Evidence of recent RJ conferencing and mediation experience.
7. Previously worked in a relevant professional field.
8. Experience of managing staff and / or volunteers.
9. Experience of working in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary context.
10. Experience in project management.
