Applications are invited for 2 Full time Locally Employed Doctor Posts (ST3+ level) in Anaesthesia.
The appointments are to commence in March 2025 for a fixed term period of one year, after an initial period of 6 months.
Interested applicants must have minimum of 2 years post-graduate anaesthetic experience with a minimum of 12 months in the UK. Primary FRCA or Equivalent qualification is essential.
These are non-training posts and do not have deanery approval for training.
The successful candidates will have a named mentor and will be entitled to 15 days of study leave in a year.
The posts do not award a National Training Number. As these posts are not recognised as ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required.
The duties of these posts are at ST3+ including out of hours work and provision of anaesthesia under local supervision.
The appointees will be based in HUTH and will have opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of Anaesthetic specialties and undertake audit/QI project with the support of the department. The elective anaesthetic specialties include but not limited to airway, head and neck, regional, obstetrics, paediatrics, neuro, cardiac, vascular, major GI surgery and plastics.
The posts includes a 1 in 8 on-call commitment on a full shift rota system. On call commitments could be on the registrar on call rota for HICU 1, CICU 1 and Obstetric Anaesthesia.
