Assistant Stock Controller - 20 Hours Per Week (Wednesday afternoon and Full days Thursday and Friday)
We are looking for a part-time and permanent Warehouse Operative.
The ideal candidate would hold a Counterbalance Forklift Licence or be willing to go through the FLT Training to join our team at the Huntingdon Operations Centre to assist with our Washrooms, Healthcare, and Floorcare Divisions.
The key responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative at phs will involve:
1. Maintaining the relevant paperwork.
2. Preparing stock for drivers.
3. Keeping stock areas clean and tidy at all times.
4. Carrying out stock takes as and when requested.
5. Carrying out any task deemed necessary by the Operations Manager.
6. Liaising and forming good working relationships with other members of staff within the Branch.
7. Fully complying with current health and safety legislation and procedures.
The ideal candidate for a Warehouse Operative role at phs will have:
1. The manual handling capability to handle large amounts of stock daily.
2. Ability to work under pressure.
3. Understanding of health and safety.
4. Capability to carry out all operations and activities in the prescribed manner.
5. Ability to use the correct tools and equipment for the operation, including any relevant safety equipment or protective clothing.
6. Ability to report any defects in equipment or protective clothing immediately.
7. Avoid improvising or taking shortcuts that would entail unauthorized or unnecessary risks.
8. Maintain a clean and tidy working area.
9. Report accidents or near-miss incidents promptly.
10. Suggest ways of eliminating or reducing hazards.
11. Cooperate with accident/incident investigations to prevent recurrence.
12. Develop a personal concern for their own safety and that of their colleagues.

Due to the nature of our work, bank holidays are normal working days except for Christmas Day.
