Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Location: Waterlooville Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (depending on experience) Start: Immediate Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time GSL Education are seeking a proactive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in an SEN school located in Waterlooville to help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will assist students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to succeed. You will work alongside experienced professionals to create an engaging and structured learning environment where every child can thrive. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional learning needs. Assist in delivering targeted interventions to aid academic and social development. Support students with emotional regulation and behavioural management. Adapt learning materials to make lessons accessible and engaging. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to the teaching team. Encourage independence, confidence, and communication skills among students. Job Requirements: CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is highly desirable. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field. Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, or a similar support role in a classroom or school setting, is preferred. Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth. Understanding of various Special Educational Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). What GSL Education Offers You?
