Job Opportunity: Quality Manager - Northumberland Line Project Location: Near Northumberland Park, Northumberland Duration: Minimum until the end of 2025 Work Schedule: Full-time, 45 hours per week (flexible remote working, 3 days on-site Tues-Thurs) Start Date: Immediate We are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join our dynamic team working on the Northumberland Line project. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional from the civil engineering industry, ideally with a background in main contracting, to lead and drive quality management across this significant infrastructure project. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the lead contact with the client for Quality Management, certification, and project handover. Provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team on quality process performance and escalate risks for resolution. Implement and monitor key Quality processes, including material approval, non-conformance reporting, ITP record packs, and lessons learnt. Manage and own the project’s audit and surveillance schedule. Foster a culture of positive Quality behaviours across the project. Lead a team of Quality Engineers, ensuring high standards are consistently maintained. Review ITPs, proposed materials, and Non-Conformance Reports, ensuring all aspects align with quality expectations. Report to the Head of Quality to discuss performance, risks, and emerging challenges. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Experience in civil engineering, with a preference for candidates from a main contractor background. Familiarity with Highways Specifications and/or Network Rail standards is preferred. Lead Auditor certification is preferred, and MCQI is an advantage but not essential. A strong understanding of industry techniques, materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Strong knowledge of relevant SHEQ requirements. Proactive, collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently and lead a team effectively. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve and analyse technical issues.
