Job Family: Engineering
As the Materials and Corrosion Engineer (Senior or Principal), you will have direct responsibility for the delivery of Engineering Deliverables including:
1. Selection of safe and cost-effective material solutions
2. Development and guidance of internal test programmes
3. Resolution of Client queries and technical issues for Catalyst Technologies Licensed projects and associated R&D.

Your Responsibilities:
1. Direct responsibility for delivery of Materials and Corrosion deliverables for allocated licensing and R&D projects.
2. Lead selection of suitable cost-effective materials of construction for allocated projects in a timely manner and with due regard to safety and company reputation.
3. Review and update of material specifications for proprietary equipment and licensed technologies.
4. Review and advise on manufacturing procedures including material production, welding, fabrication, subsequent treatments, and NDT techniques.
5. Lead/ consult on material failure investigations and material testing programmes.
6. Provide authoritative technical guidance to internal/external customers and equipment suppliers within areas of responsibility.
7. Undertake materials and corrosion related consultancy work for JM clients or potential clients as required.
8. Ensure JM health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work.
9. Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertise.
Requirements for the Role:
1. Degree, or equivalent in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering.
2. Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to pressure vessel engineering, materials selection and corrosion control (e.g., ASME, ISO, NACE, API, ASTM, etc.).
3. Significant experience in materials selection and corrosion engineering, preferably within the chemical process industry.
4. Strong knowledge of materials properties, corrosion/damage mechanisms, and failure analysis in the chemical process industry.
5. Significant theoretical knowledge of materials analytical techniques supported by practical experience.
6. Ability to plan and prioritise work often with multiple conflicting priorities.
