We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Networks team as our Customer Distribution Operative – Water Mains Operative within our Northumberland & Tyne operating region in the Northeast of England.
This role offers full training to support the successful candidate to complete the various technical aspects of this role within our water supply network. This means we’re seeking someone with transferrable skills which would allow them to develop into this position.
This is a varied role and could involve the installation, repair, and maintenance of our underground pipework and assets, ensuring clean and tidy sites for our customers. This means you’ll be directly contributing to our vision of supplying a clean, clear, and reliable supply of drinking water to customers communities.
We’re looking for you to demonstrate flexibility, including active participation in a standby rota and additional initiatives to achieve better performance.

As you will be provided with full training, coaching and support water industry experience is not required, however, a background in manual tasks such as groundworks, excavating, landscaping would be advantageous.

This role will see you work outdoors 24/7, which means you’ll enjoy working outdoors in all weathers on practical tasks.
This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked
Please note this role may require a DBS to be completed prior to employment
A full valid UK class B driving licence is essential for this role.
