About the role:
Hillingdon Council is excited to announce the creation of multiple new Service Manager roles in response to national reforms and to ensure that family help is the focus of our transformation work. As a Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering services in accordance with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies. You will develop effective multi:disciplinary practices to maximise the use of resources and provide efficient and effective services to children, families, and carers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading on planning and implementation of effective services across all areas of the service.
* Developing and maintaining strong partnerships within the council and with external partners.
* Managing and monitoring delegated financial budgets and ensuring expenditure aligns with council policy.
* Taking responsibility for recruitment, retention, and continuous improvement of service quality and delivery.
* Providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure service plans and performance targets meet statutory requirements and local priorities.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in managing and delivering services in accordance with legislation, National Standards, safeguarding procedures, and local policies.
* Strong background in developing effective multi:disciplinary practices and maximising the use of resources.
* Experience in establishing, maintaining, and developing joint planning, service delivery, commissioning, and purchasing with other appropriate agency bodies.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and effective partnerships within the council and with external partners.
Skills and Competencies:
* Excellent leadership and strategic planning skills.
* Strong financial management and budget monitoring abilities.
* Effective communication and partnership:building skills.
* Ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring continuous improvement in service quality and delivery.
