Job summary This post is responsible for providing a full range of administration and clerical support to the Paediatric Burns Ward Manager, nursing and medical teams across Burns service in accordance with the relevant policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. To ensure that administration and clerical issues are managed efficiently on a day to day basis, and administration systems are updated in a timely manner. This is an exciting time for the ward and we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be part of our ever growing team The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration service and assist the clinical teams in ensuring our patients and their relatives experience a coordinated and streamlined patient journey. Main duties of the job Main duties and responsibilities Reception duties Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries in accordance with instruction, relaying any queries and messages as appropriate to the nursing staff. Receive and distribute any patients post. Receive and distribute patient / parent feedback cards, circulate the patient tracker device across Paediatric Burns Unit. Receive visitors to Paediatric Burns Unit under supervision of the nursing staff, directing them as appropriate either to the patient area or to the waiting area. Patient record duties Book in all casenotes received onto the ward using the appropriate patient administration system. Take responsibility for the maintenance of the patients' records whilst they remain on Paediatric Critical Care, arranging for renewal if required. File all documents, once signed by the doctor, nurse or other health professional. Request any missing notes from the records office. Ensure patients notes and other reports are complete and ready for ward rounds. Check all documentation is complete when the patient is ready for discharge, before allowing the notes to leave the ward.
