The Role: Head of Health and Safety

I am delighted to be working with this fabulous Hospitality client to find them a dynamic Head of Health and Safety.
The group are renowned for great food and their sustainable approach.
About the role:
We are looking for a strong all-rounder with skills across food safety, compliance and risk. Ideally, the incoming candidate will have experience in a similar role with a multi-site food retail/hospitality business.
The Head of Health and Safety should have various prerequisite skills and qualifications to perform duties effectively. These would naturally include:
* In-depth knowledge of safety regulations
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong team spirit and a collaborative approach
* Strong working knowledge of H&S/Safety Management systems
Although the backbone of the business is food, the role will have a wider remit and also be responsible for leading a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Developing, implementing, and managing health and safety policies and procedures.
* Performing safety audits.
* Conducting safety training sessions.
* Creating initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents on site.
* Providing safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures.
* Advising the company’s administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.
* Inspecting and verifying company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
* Having excellent attention to detail to identify hazards.
* Discovering opportunities for improving conditions and executing various safety programs.
* Communicating guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce.
Qualifications - Essential
* Health & Safety qualification – minimum level 3 equivalent – NEBOSH/NVQ/NCRQ, ideally working towards next level.
* Experience of working in a risk management role in a multi-site environment including audit, risk assessment, implementation of policies/procedures/training, incident management/investigation, and performance reporting.
* Food Hygiene qualification and experience of risk management in an F&B environment.
* Experience of working with enforcing authorities and third-party contractors.
Highly Desirable
* NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
* NEBOSH Management of Health and Safety and Well Being at Work.
* CMIOSH (Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner)
* Over 5 years management experience across a similar scale management organisation.
