TD SYNNEX is seeking an IT Field Support Engineer who will be responsible for providing on-site technical support at our Bracknell and occasionally Basingstoke locations. This role is primarily focused on delivering customer-centric, 2nd-level support, assisting end-users at all levels of the business—from administrative staff to C-Level executives.
Within this role you will be responsible for:
5. Act as the primary point of contact for end-users requiring technical support.
6. Communicate effectively with users at all levels, ensuring clear and accessible guidance.
7. Provide 1st and 2nd-level support for incidents and service requests related to end-user devices (desktops, laptops), software applications, and basic network and server issues.
8. Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, including computers, printers, scanners, and other office equipment. Perform basic repairs and replace parts as necessary.
9. Handle basic setup, installation, and maintenance of end-user applications and ensure functionality.
10. Manage relationships with internal teams and escalate incidents when required. Coordinate with other IT departments for problem resolution and service requests within agreed SLAs.
11. Maintain asset inventories, manage stock levels of devices and peripherals, and order new equipment as required.
12. Provide basic training and guidance to end-users to promote efficient technology use.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
13. Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant IT support experience, ideally in a customer-facing role.
14. Basic IT knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues and solve problems as they arise.
15. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across various levels of the organization, from administrative staff to senior executives.
16. Experience working independently with minimal supervision; able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage workloads autonomously.
17. Relevant IT qualification such as ITIL, CCNA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
18. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when handling user issues.
19. Strong customer service orientation, with an ability to respond proactively to the needs of end-users.
Other Requirements:
20. Comfortable working primarily on-site, often independently, with initial training and support.
21. Willingness to provide hands-on assistance to end-users and adapt to a dynamic work environment where high-level executives are present.
22. The ideal candidate should possess solid interpersonal skills and be comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple requests independently. Basic IT knowledge is essential, and problem-solving and communication skills are paramount.
