Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Child Protection Team to work full time based in Southend.
The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £51,790 per annum.
Main duties:
* To manage the social work team, ensuring the provision of services to children and young people, and that child protection enquiries, assessments & support services are consistently completed to a high standard.
* To ensure consistent interpretation of eligibility criteria and risk thresholds within the service.
* To implement service strategy and performance management processes and ensure the team's contribution to the overall departmental and Council objectives.
* To provide formal, professional supervision to staff, ensuring that appraisals are undertaken, identifying skill gaps or training needs, and endeavoring to provide for these.
* Monitor and report on the team's performance, standards, and quality of work to ensure that the Council complies with policy, procedures, and professional standards, while constantly reviewing the performance of the team to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
* Support staff to formulate, agree, and monitor care plans for children and young people in need, looked after, or in need of protection.
* Deliver effective liaison within the department, other agencies, and partner organizations, collating and analyzing presenting information, and ensuring opportunities are taken forward and tackling appropriately areas of difficulty.
* Attend and represent the Council in legal proceedings.
* Actively manage representations and complaints and refer to the appropriate level if unable to resolve.
* Oversee budget allocation for the team, plan expenditure, follow financial procedures, and ensure that expenditure is kept within the available budget.
* Be familiar with Equal Opportunities good practice and the Council requirements for diversity, implementing this in all aspects of working practice and promoting it in the team, workplace, and wider organization.
* Provide information, reports, and analysis as required.
* Act as a member of the management team, attending meetings and contributing to decision/policy making.
* Effectively chair a variety of meetings, conferences, and reviews as required.
* Deputize for the Service Manager as required.
Requirements of this Team Manager job:
* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Continual professional development.
* Social Work England registered.
