An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Head and Neck Team as a Band 6 Clinical Specialist for a seconded period of 12 months. This is a full time post but part time applicant's will be considered for a minimum of 30hrs per week.
This post is funded by Cancer Alliance for this period after which it will be reviewed.
This is a newly created post and the successful candidate will be expected to work with the CNS's, Clinic and Medical team in the development of the service.
The main function of the post will involve triaging of Head and Neck patients that have been referred to our consultants. The role will be varied within the clinics and there will be an opportunity to develop the service alongside the clinicians.
Some experience of project management will be advantageous.
The Triaging role within the Trust has proven to be of great benefit, both to patients, allowing them to go straight to test, and to the clinics and Clinicians in managing the waiting list. This is opportunity for you to lead the drive and implementation of this innovation and advance quality patient experience.
This post is currently a Band 6 but will become a Band 7 once required competencies are obtained.
Main duties of the job
* Triage of Head and Neck patients
* Adjusting and developing current triage modules within the Trust
* Working with the clinic teams in delivering an overall service
* Working in close collaboration with the MDT
* Participate in peer review and patient feedback programmes to improve experience.
