We have an excellent opportunity for a Locum Nurse Practitioner to join our team at The Birches Medical Centre and Martlesham Heath Surgery.
This is a great chance to work with an innovative and fast expanding surgeries alongside current members of staff. We are looking for a locum Nurse Practitioner to work with us in developing our ambitious plans of providing outstanding primary health care to our patient population while supporting the increasing demand on Primary Care.
We are looking for individuals with Primary Care Nursing skills and experience. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Lead Practice Nurse and Senior GP's.
Main duties of the job
1. Carrying out in depth and extensive clinical examinations
2. Performing diagnosis based on review of past medical history, face to face (where appropriate) assessments and clinical examinations conducted
3. Requesting and taking specimens (blood, urine etc)
4. Creating short or long-term treatment plans and prescribing medication based on test findings
5. Managing and providing post-surgical care to patients
6. Offering special instructions to patients such as nutritional advice, information about weight management, etc.
7. Performing routine medical procedures
8. Performing periodic evaluations of their patients and referring them to specialists as necessary
To provide annual leave and sickness cover, as well as support our current Nursing / HCA Team during busy periods.

This venture offers a significant part of our future GP funding, as such the PCN may fund your post but you will be based with our teams.
Our patients are often happy to take responsibility for their own health, however, we offer on the day contact to a wide selection of teams when they feel help is needed. The main access for our patients is via Anima, this has made a great improvement to the access we offer our patients and we are always looking at new technology to aid our patient journey.

We are looking to recruit a locum Nurse Practitioner with experience of the general practice setting who is able to offer time to assist our current Clinical Team.
However, if you have experience within a secondary care or community settings your application will be considered.
As part of our Nursing Team you will be required to provide autonomous medical care to our patients who need an on the day consultation. To pro-actively mitigate treatment delays, conduct thorough assessments, where needed, while utilising your knowledge of dealing with a wide range of minor illnesses.

Qualifications
Essential
9. Bachelors degree in nursing and an approved apprenticeship.
10. A masters degree in advanced clinical practice or nursing practice
11. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the United Kingdom and the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
Desirable
12. A non-prescribing medical qualification such as the Level 6 and Level 7 Non-medical Prescribing for Health Care Professionals
