FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

Quantity Surveyor role:
• Report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and be responsible for specific accounts on large projects or overall financial control on smaller ones.
Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:
• Process applications and reconcile valuations and costs.
• Control costs, forecast expenses, and provide monthly financial reports, including value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow.
• Support Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions.
• Mentor and review the project team regularly.
• Oversee all contractual aspects, including forms, budgetary control, and relevant software.
• Draft, negotiate, and award subcontracts.
• Keep all notifications and documents current.
• Report all safety risks to site management whilst maintaining regular communication with the site team, subcontractors, and clients' representatives.
• Advise the site team on contractual matters as needed.
Quantity Surveyor requirements:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (Essential).
• MRICS or studying for APC (Essential).
• Experience working with a main contractor (Essential).
• Experience working within the water industry (Desirable).
• Knowledge of NEC contracts (Desirable).
