We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Key Stage Coordinator – Geography to join our vibrant department within a well-established school in West London. This is an exciting chance to play a pivotal role in leading the development and delivery of a stimulating Geography curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7-11), fostering a love of the subject and nurturing a deep understanding of the world in students of all abilities. About the Role: Leading and motivating a dedicated team of Geography teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Geography curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring it aligns with the National Curriculum, school vision, and latest advancements in the field. Monitoring and evaluating the progress of students across the Key Stages, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies to raise standards. Delivering inspiring and engaging Geography lessons to students, potentially across a range of year groups. Line managing and mentoring Geography teachers, supporting their professional growth and development. Contributing to the wider school curriculum by fostering interdepartmental collaboration and ensuring Geography integrates effectively with other subjects. Managing the department's resources effectively, including budgets and equipment. Playing a key role in departmental and whole-school events, fostering a vibrant learning environment within the wider school community. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Geography teacher with significant experience in a leadership role, ideally within a Key Stage or departmental setting. Excellent subject knowledge, a passion for Geography education, and a proven track record of success in raising standards and achieving excellent student outcomes. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop a team of teachers. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents/carers and senior leadership. A commitment to high standards and a data-driven approach to curriculum development and improvement. The ability to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of Geography and critical thinking skills in all students. Proficiency in using relevant IT systems for curriculum planning, assessment and data analysis.
