Consultant in Rheumatology with option for split GIM
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in outpatient care? We are seeking a dedicated Consultant to lead high-quality, consultant-led services in a dynamic outpatient setting.
In this role, the number of clinics would be directly proportional to the number of PAs; a 10 PA post would attract 5 clinic sessions. You'll also play a crucial part in patient care by covering ward referrals, managing our infusion unit, and providing expert advice through Cinapsis for GPs—all on a rota basis with no on-call commitments.
We value continuous learning and innovation, offering opportunities for involvement in research and education. As part of our team, you will mentor and support doctors in training, contribute to our teaching program for medical undergraduates, and collaborate with Rheumatology Nurse Specialists.
If you're passionate about patient care and education, we'd love to hear from you! Apply today and be a part of our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare.
Interviews for this post will be held on 10th December in person.
Main duties of the job
The post will require 50% of the dedicated Rheumatology PA's to be clinic based; a 6 PA Rheumatology job plan would require 3 clinics per week.
It is expected that at least one clinic will be dedicated to connective tissue disease and one clinic per month to early inflammatory arthritis in accordance with the National early inflammatory arthritis audit.
The holder will be expected to participate in a weekly rota for ward referrals, infusion clinic cover, and management of Cinapsis advice and guidance.
The holder will be encouraged to support the registrar and specialist nurses and to participate in educational sessions. We actively encourage specialist interests. If the participant wishes to participate in General medicine, there would be an expectation to join the on-call rota.
