Our established client based in central Grimsby are offering a unique opportunity to join them as a Machine Operator. This position offers training and progression and the chance to join a close-knit team.

Pay rate:
£13.23 p/h
Shift pattern:
Week 1 - 06:00 - 14:00
Week 2 - 14:00 - 22:00
Week 3 - 22:00 - 06:00
Skills and Competencies Essential
- Basic English & Maths
- Communicate fluently
- Can work three shift system (nights included) with overtime upon request and weekend overtime when required
- Self-sufficient for transport to work
- Licensed to drive a Fork Truck - Counterbalance (this can be funded by the client for the right candidate)
- Eagerness to learn new skills in and outside current role for self and business development
- Experience or exposure of COSHH principles
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrate formal and informal training of basic safety training modules, basic hygiene training modules and basic quality training modules
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Perform pre- Start checks and monitor process equipment under your control to the correct operating procedures
- Carry out your duties with due regard for the health, safety and environmental responsibilities towards yourself and your colleagues within Standard Operating
Procedures and Quality Management systems for your area of work
- Undertake duties in Raw Material (Fish) Shed and Weighbridge as required
- Maintain a clean as you go policy during production hours, undertaking cleaning duties during planned stoppages
- Undertake to run the entire process from material hopper to bin storage
- Comply with and support the management of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points plan and Feed Safety standards with regards to raw material, intermediate and final products.
- Take Quality Assurance samples when requested
- Record and monitor the process equipment aligned with Quality Management System protocols and take corrective action if required
- Interact with all colleagues aligned with company policy expectations
- Ensure shift handovers are done in the area of work e.g. control room or on the factory floor and the relevant information is passed to the oncoming personnel
- You will be required to work at times unsupervised and must ensure all stakeholders have an update of your progress throughout the shift
- Identify potential issues and assist with rectifying them to prevent any problems arising before they become major problems
- Help reduce wastage of materials and utilities whenever possible
- Other general duties and tasks as required
