Position Overview:
As the successful candidate your role will be to oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline goals. As an Engineering Project Manager you will coordinate teams, manage risks, ensure compliance with standards, and communicate with stakeholders. Strong technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for delivering successful engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents.
* Examples of equipment that you will be working on include motors, gearboxes, screw /chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, food and organic waste handling, and dosing equipment.
* You will be expected to provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Setup and maintenance of process equipment.
* Optimize production line processes and improve manufacturing efficiency.
* Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the production cycle.
* Collaborate with R&D to implement innovative solutions and best practices.
* Manage process engineering tasks related to our modular insect farming systems.
* Maintain compliance with electrical safety and health and safety regulations.
* Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
* Assist operations when required.
* Liaise with suppliers, selecting appropriate equipment and supporting procurement.
* Aiding and guidance on site to Project Engineers or Engineering contractors as they build Flybox products.
* Completing statutory checks as required.
* Travelling to project sites (UK, EU & Africa) to repair/maintain/install equipment.
About you:
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or related
* This role will best suit someone with a project engineering background and 2 years of relevant experience in industry.
* Proficiency in project management tools – MS projects or similar
* Understanding of engineering principles and processes
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Contractor Management. Engage, liaise and manage contractors during project build and execution of projects. Manage contracts, payments, timelines and quality of contractor builds.
* Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (preferred)
* Knowledge of procurement processes or supply chain management
* Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Willingness to travel as needed
