Hybrid/ Slough based JOB TITLE: Family Support Worker CONTRACT: 12 Months, possibility to go permanent based on performance. HOURS: 37 hours per week. PAY RATE: £15-17 Per hour LTD Rate (depending on experience) LOCATION: Based in Slough, working for Slough Children First as part of services for Slough borough council. JOB ROLE: As a Family Support Worker, your role will be to support children and their families with a variety of problems. This could include: -Problems with drug and alcohol addiction -Children with disability or special educational needs (SEN) -Language barriers and other social or cultural issues Your responsibilities will include assessing the needs of my clients and creating a plan of support based on a needs assessment. You will conduct regular reviews with families and individual clients during home visits to ensure there are no issues at home. You will look after the wellbeing of people in their daily lives to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support. Overall, your aim is to enable families to find solutions in the challenges they face and grow and develop confidence to manage future difficulties. You will be working in an office based in Slough 1-2 days a week (or work from home) and the rest of the days you must be in slough for direct work with children, young adults and families. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - At least 2 years experience working 1 to 1 with young children, young adults and parents in complex families. - Proven track record of working with families with multiple complex needs. - Experience of monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating work - Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures and safeguarding and CAF - Educated to A level or NVQ3 in child development, youth support, health, or social care, and / or a relevant or / and professional qualification in these areas. - Be able to travel around Slough - Be able to demonstrate continuous professional development in related disciplines. - Experience of monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating work - Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures and safeguarding and CAF - If you hold a valid driving licence and able to travel around slough itll be beneficial as this role does require a lot of travelling around the community.
