HR Business Partner – Belfast – Award winning organisation.
MCS Group is delighted to exclusively partnering with an award-winning organisation based in Belfast as they look to add an HR Business Partner to their team on a permanent basis.
The role:
This pivotal role will focus primarily on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, making it ideally suited to someone with a strong background in a unionised environment. As a key member of the HR team, you will play a critical role in fostering effective working relationships across the business and ensuring the smooth resolution of workplace issues.
The main responsibilities:
* Act as the primary HR contact for all ER and IR matters, providing expert guidance to managers and employees.
* Manage a wide range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance management, and absence management.
* Participate in union negotiations and consultations, maintaining positive and professional relationships with trade union representatives.
* Provide expert advice on employment law, HR policies, and best practices to ensure the organisation complies with legal and contractual obligations.
* Support managers with organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
* Identify and mitigate ER/IR risks within the organisation, recommending proactive solutions to prevent potential disputes.
* Deliver training to managers to build capability in handling ER/IR issues effectively.
* Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to support the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives.
* Monitor and report on ER/IR metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform decision-making.
* Support the wider team with generalist HR duties.
The ideal candidate:
* Proven track record in an HR role with a strong focus on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
* Demonstrable experience working in a unionised environment, including handling union negotiations and consultations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of NI employment law and HR best practices.
* Strong ability to manage complex ER cases from end to end.
* Experience in supporting change management initiatives such as restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
