We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the reopening and re positioning of a theme park. This exciting opportunity will allow you to make your mark on the industry by developing a comprehensive commercial and business strategy, turning a closed property into a thriving, profitable operation.
About the Role:
As the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in the complete revitalisation of the theme park. From day one, you will oversee and manage all operational aspects, developing and executing a robust business strategy aimed at generating significant growth and revenue. This includes pre-opening activities, creating a 3-5 year business plan, and ensuring the theme park is positioned for long-term commercial success.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reopening & Re positioning: Lead the entire process of reopening the park, ensuring all operations, safety protocols, and guest experiences meet the highest standards.
* Business Strategy Development: Create and implement a sound, forward-thinking business strategy that drives profitability, maximise sales, and optimise the guest experience.
* 3-5 Year Business Plan: Develop a long-term, sustainable plan, with clear revenue goals, operational improvements, and expansion initiatives.
* Sales & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to increase ticket sales, membership packages, and merchandise, leveraging commercial acumen to maximise profitability.
* Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running of all departments, from guest services to ride maintenance.
* Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in Theme Park Operations: You must have hands-on experience in a similar role within the theme park or leisure industry, with a proven track record of operational leadership and driving significant business growth.
* Commercial Acumen: You must possess strong business planning skills, with evidence of successful sales growth, revenue maximisation, and budget management.
* Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive long-term strategy, with an eye on both short-term objectives and long-term sustainability.
* Knowledge of the Industry: In-depth knowledge of the theme park industry, including guest experience trends, operational best practices, and market analysis.
* Proven Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a history of building, motivating, and developing successful teams.
* Excellent Communication Skills: You must be a confident communicator, capable of presenting and collaborating with stakeholders, from investors to on-the-ground teams.
