We are the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), a University teaching hospital full of hard-working and dedicated staff providing community and hospital services across the Morecambe Bay area.
Our Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our Governance team within our Women's and Children's Care Group as a clinical effectiveness and audit midwife.

Main duties of the job
1. To be responsible alongside the Lead Consultants for Audit for coordinating and overseeing all clinical audits undertaken within the Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, working with relevant multi-professional leads to ensure agreed deadlines are met.
2. To conduct audits and develop and monitor action plans to ensure recommendations/actions are embedded into clinical practice and that assurance is provided to the Specialty and Care Group Leads.
3. To lead and co-ordinate the benchmarking of all regional and national audits, ensuring action plans are SMART and monitor the progress of the action plans until actions have been completed.
4. Present all regional and national audit reports and action plans to the Women’s Health Quality Board.
5. To provide results of all clinical audit, as required for the purposes of business planning, responses to national guidelines, and responses to information requests from outside agencies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Person specification
* Registered Midwife
* Experience in clinical audit
* An awareness of National and Local safety initiatives and ambitions
* Confident in working in an MDT environment and communicating with all MDT members and AHPs.
* Experience of teaching/training others
* Qualification in audit practice
