My client, an innovative specialist within the electrical manufacturing sector, is seeking to appoint an ambitious Leader who has the experience and ability develop a team, whilst focusing on continuous improvement across all areas of production. Job Overview: Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager will oversee all production activities, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves leading a team, coordinating with multiple departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve our companys production and quality goals. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Scheduling:Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders and project timelines.Work closely with the Sales and Project Management teams to ensure production aligns with project needs. Quality Control & Assurance:Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards, working closely with the Quality Assurance team. Implement and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the production floor. Team Leadership:Manage, mentor, and develop production staff. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate targets, challenges, and achievements. Inventory & Resource Management:Coordinate with the Supply Chain team to maintain adequate stock levels and manage material flow, including consumables.Oversee the implementation of Kanban or other inventory control methods to optimize resources and minimize waste. Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality within the production process.Support the introduction of new tools and technologies, including EPLAN Pro Panel, and ensure training for staff as necessary. Health & Safety:Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential risks proactively. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and cost.Prepare and present regular production performance reports to the General Manager and Board. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Production Management role, preferably in an electrical manufacturing environment however production management experience in other manufacturing environments will be considered. Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies. Skills Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing multi-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Familiarity with EPLAN or other CAD software (experience with 3D design is a plus). Ability to handle production scheduling, cost control, and project management effectively.
