We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our growing team at Cheadle Hulme High School. In this rewarding role, you'll play a vital part in supporting students with a variety of learning needs. You'll work alongside teachers to provide one-on-one or small group support, and empower students to reach their full potential.
Here at the Laurus Trust, we provide a cutting-edge SEND provision that positively impacts our young people. We are currently looking to recruit caring and dedicated individuals to join our SEND team. You will enhance students' progress while promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion. A comprehensive offer of professional learning is in place, and we ensure that all schools have designated workspaces for staff. A broad range of training in SEND is available across all our schools, focusing on whole-school SEND issues as well as specific training for SEND teams.

This position is contracted on a 31 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.
Job Purpose
* Support identified students within the classroom environment and in small group situations.
* Work with teachers to enhance student progress while promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
Key Skills and Experiences
* Sound educational background including GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
* Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or have special educational needs.
* Experience of working with children and young people within an educational environment is advantageous.
