Full job description
Contribute to the delivery of excellent patient care, supporting the existing workforce under direct or indirect supervision.
1. Improve safety and quality of care at every opportunity.
2. Undertake additional clinical training as required.
3. Support registered nurses and the wider team to enable them to focus on the more complex clinical care.
4. Support and provide chronic disease clinics and maintain registers for CVD prevention and tackling health inequalities.
5. Accurately perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and pulse rates.
6. Be able and qualified to perform cervical screening and childhood vaccinations.
7. Support with vaccination programmes.
8. Engage positively with patients/carers/families and staff members promoting mutually respectful and appropriate relationships.
9. Communicate effectively with patients regarding providing and planning their care and carrying out risk assessment needs as required.
10. Communicate complex and sensitive information verbally and in writing, adapting and tailoring communication skills to the need of the listener.
11. Support patients in maintaining their physical, mental, and behavioural health and well-being.
12. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient health records.
13. Maintain skills and training through continuous professional development, attending regular educational updates via e-learning and face-to-face sessions as appropriate.
