Hertfordshire is brimming with ambition and opportunity. We are constantly improving and transforming the way we work to deliver outstanding services to our 1.2 million residents, within the context of increasing demand and finite resource.
We have recently led a significant change programme, moving our workforce to a new head office in Stevenage and have a fantastic opportunity to embed a culture which is modern, dynamic and representative of our diverse communities. We have also recently completed a major review of our operating model which has engaged the workforce to drive further efficiencies in the way that we work. We still have much to do to realise the full vision of this new approach, and as the Director of People, you will be vital in making this happen.
You will be the lead adviser to our new chief executive, Angie Ridgwell, senior management team, made up of Adult Care Services, Children’s Services, Growth and Environment, Resources and Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, and elected members on all aspects of workforce development, organisational design and workforce planning. Whether you bring a local government or a wider public service background, you will inspire people with your passion for continual improvement, fairness and belonging.
This is a role in which you can make a big impact by ensuring that our workforce of over 8,000 officers has the skills and support it needs for the future. You will share our commitment to diversity and inclusion and enjoy working collaboratively with partners across the county.
