What is a Housekeeping Assistant Volunteer? Our Housekeeping Volunteers assist the team in promoting and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across the hospice. This is an integral role that requires enthusiasm, dedication and lots of energy. By following clear cleaning regimes across our communal areas, offices and family areas, you will help to create a vibrant atmosphere where our babies, children, young people and their families can enjoy and make those special memories What's involved? Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces in communal areas, restrooms, and workspaces. Restocking Supplies: Ensure that cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other essentials are adequately stocked in restrooms, kitchens, and other areas as needed. Waste Management: Empty room bins and dispose of waste appropriately, including recycling when necessary. Laundry Assistance: Assist with laundry duties, such as washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, towels, and other items. Reporting Issues: Identify and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the appropriate staff member. Supporting Events: Assist with setting up and cleaning after events or meetings, including arranging furniture, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring that spaces are ready for use. Adhering to Safety Procedures: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, and ensure compliance with organisational policies. Collaboration: Work closely with staff and other volunteers to ensure that all housekeeping tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. What’s in it for you?
