We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Research Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support various research projects, contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will perform various support functions in a research/production laboratory using appropriate procedures and SOP's to generate and validate data of sufficient quality for project development, publications, grant submissions, or production where appropriate. Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility; maintains and restocks supplies, liaising with the Laboratory Operations Manager or relevant manager; and maintains computer database. Works whilst receiving guidance and direction from manager. Must accurately complete records and lab books with support from their manager, emphasising on them being up to date.
Responsibilities
* Some experience in cell culture preferably with culturing of pluripotent stem cells. This may include differentiation of iPSCs or generation of iPSC lines from primary material
* Some cellular assay experience which may include ELISA, qPCR or PCR, flow cytometry or imaging assay formats
* Perform daily laboratory housekeeping activities, including but not limited to cleaning of laboratories, stock control and waste disposal
* Completion of laboratory notebooks and standard forms in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures & good documentation practice
* Preparation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
* Providing out of hours cover for cell culture as required on a rotational basis
* Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures

Required knowledge, skills and abilities
* A BSc level of qualification in cell biology/life science subject or equivalent level of experience
