As a Buyer (Grade C), you will drive the commercial performance of your category across all our formats. You will be the key decision maker with the autonomy to deliver your category strategy.
What you’ll do
1. Deliver and track against the key commercial KPI’s of sales and profitability
2. Curate the optimum assortment for our customers that delivers on all of our commercial targets
3. Generate a continuous pipeline of value creating initiatives to deliver sales and profitability
4. Be responsible for the category and trade plan that aligns to the overarching business plan
5. Negotiate with and manage the supplier base, including a clear supplier strategy and the ongoing maintenance/improvement of terms
6. Define the pricing and promotional strategy for the category
7. Product/supplier sourcing & development in line with strategy
8. Deliver projects and trials within your own area with cross functional engagement
9. Contribute to the annual budget building process
Who you are
1. Previous buying/commercial experience – desirable
2. Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
3. Great stakeholder management with the ability to communicate and influence effectively
4. Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
5. Strong commercial acumen
6. Negotiation knowledge and skills
7. Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse data
8. Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
9. Proactive and resourceful
10. Great team player
