As Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a team who are responsible for the mechanical maintenance and all engineering aspects of the production plants and equipment, where you will always ensuring optimum efficiency and safety.

Contract Type: Permanent
Contracted hours: Full time, 45 hours per week, working Monday to Friday
There will be a need to work at weekends for maintenance cover (mainly during the winter period) and when there is project/maintenance requirements this would be during the summer months, this would be by prior arrangement and rostered during the winter months.
In this role the key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment, safely and efficiently maintaining, and repairing both plant and equipment
2. Identifying and diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, adjustments and other maintenance works as appropriate
3. Carry out the required routine servicing, repair or adjustment of plant or machinery in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule
4. Providing technical advice to the mill
5. Collaborative working on project work and repairs
6. Responsible for ensuring all documentation required is completed
7. Identify where additional Method Statements and Risk Assessments are required
8. Ordering materials and ensuring that the correct materials are on site when required
9. Interpretation of site drawings and project information
Key skills & experience:
1. Experience within a heavy manufacturing similar to quarry works in a production environment
2. Experience with conveying systems, types of conveyers to include screw horizontal conveyers, chain & flight conveyers and belt bucket elevators
3. A robust understanding of Health and Safety is required
4. Strong IT skills
5. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team without constant supervision
