Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Surgical Emergency Unit

Job overview
We are looking for a pharmacist to lead the services to our Surgical Emergency Unit, which sees 15,000 patients per year and is a busy unit.
Main duties of the job
* Support and deputise for the Divisional Lead Pharmacist in providing a safe, effective clinical pharmacy service.
* Provide a clinical pharmacy service to the Surgical Emergency Unit.
* Promote and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the directorate.
* Lead and manage the provision of all ward-based clinical pharmacy services to the Surgical Emergency Unit.
* Develop key clinical pharmacy skills for managing patients in the Surgical Emergency Unit.
* Establish and provide a near patient dispensing service for the surgical emergency unit ward.
* Develop relationships with clinical and managerial staff in the surgical directorate.
* Contribute to and implement clinical governance plans for the Surgical Emergency Unit.
* Ensure contribution from the clinical pharmacy team to the production of medicines information leaflets (MILs).
* Support the managed introduction of new medicines to the unit.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Qualified to masters degree level (MPharm or equivalent)
* Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council
* Post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
* Independent prescriber or working towards this
Technical skills
* Working knowledge of Office 365
* Experience with Cerner Millenium
