Further information:
A fun and patient PA is required to support an 11-year-old boy to access places of interest to him. He is very friendly and loves to meet new people and makes relationships quickly with those who show an interest in him.
You will need to give him your undivided attention and be flexible where possible. He likes window shopping – particularly in stores that sell washing machines and have plenty of sockets and switches. He also enjoys walking and likes to go to parks with playgrounds if they have equipment that spins.
Although he is 11, some of his interests are that of younger children usually for sensory reasons e.g. toddler toys that flash. He has repetitive behaviour and autism with demand avoidance so options rather than demand is the best way to manage him, as is encouraging him to speak if he doesn’t like something.
You will support him whilst out and about in the community and ensure his safety at all times. He also requires prompting with personal hygiene
A car owner/driver is preferred but is not essential
