Reference: 405113ed We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Anfield area of Liverpool on a casual basis. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client who is quadriplegic following an acquired brain injury, to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home. You will be working as part of a small team in the clients family home. This will be a casual role across two days (which can be flexible) which may require you to work up to 21 hours per week. Please note the shadowing and training will be during office hours. As well as being a naturally caring, confident and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of: Personal care, support to manage incontinence, and measures to maintain a good skin state. Catheter Care. Moving and Handling (including hoisting and position changes). Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, cooking nutritious meals). Gastrostomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluid and medication. Monitoring of general health and well being, and daily record keeping.. Supporting and communicating with someone who is non verbal. You should also have: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness. Due to the nature of a personal caring role and working in an individual’s home, sometimes alongside family members, Personal Assistants may be required to deal with difficult situations and/or challenging behaviour on occasions, which should be approached in a calm and professional manner.
