About Us
Charles Saunders Ltd, a Bristol based food and catering wholesale company, are currently seeking a full time, permanent, Field Sales Manager to join our busy Sales team to increase sales, customer retention and customer service as well as ensuring consistent staff performance, staff development and training. We are one of the longest established independent food service wholesalers in the South West. We supply a full range of frozen, chilled and ambient foods together with an extensive range of catering products.
About The Position
Managing the Field Sales team
Building and delivering on a New Business pipeline
Presenting data and delivering sales pitches
Overcoming obstacles and barriers, to achieve business objectives
Developing and motivating a high performing sales team
Supporting the Field Sales team with training needs and in identifying and realising opportunities within their customer base
Oversee and monitor the activities and performance of the Filed Sales team
Ensure effective induction training is maintained, and company standards are adhered to
Be an active member of the Management team, attending meetings and assisting the Commercial Sales Director and Managing Director with duties as and when required
Manage the competency development of all sales staff in terms of skill gap analysis and training identification
Responsible for working with the Commercial Sales Director and Field Sales Team to deliver sales performance, which includes, daily, monthly and annual targets
Investigate lost sales and customer accounts
Deliver induction and training to new starters to the business and support them through their probation period
Identify opportunities to gain additional business in key accounts and gain new key contracts
Work with the Commercial Sales Director to set, implement and achieve the overall vision and goals of the company
Skills & Attributes
Although applicants with previous sales experience in the food industry is preferable, the company will also consider applications from individuals who have previous sales experience in a different sector as product training will be provided.
The Field Sales Manager will be expected to have the following skills and attributes:
A Full, UK Driving licence is essential for this role.
Previous background of working in sales is essential.
Target driven with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
Confident character with excellent customer service, networking and communication skills. Able to deal with difficult clients and customers with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
A high degree of self-motivation and ambition with the skills to motivate others.
Exceptional attention to detail and focus and good problem-solving skills.
A friendly and approachable demeanour, strong interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic and flexible approach.
People management skills within a Sales Team
Able to provide feedback and coaching team members.
Proven ability to build relationships with all levels of the business, must be able to demonstrate strong influencing skills, communication and negotiation skills.
