ENERCONâs Multi-skilled Apprenticeship program runs for 4 years, starting in August 2025. You will attend college full time for your first year learning Mechanical and Electrical skills, before joining our team on Orkney from May/June 2026 for your second, third and fourth year. \n\nWe will provide you with an in-depth induction and detailed training program covering the essential skills required for your role. Once you have completed your first year at college and necessary training courses, you will work as part of a 3-person team repairing and maintaining onshore Wind Turbines. \n\nYour working day starts 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will have a dedicated mentor and will be supervised to ensure your safety and to monitor your learning and progressing throughout your apprenticeship. \n\nYou will be required to climb the wind turbines on a daily basis and will need to be physically fit and comfortable working at height. Prior to commencing your role you will be required to complete a medical assessment. You will gain the following experience and skills: \n\nâ¢\tHow to follow strict Health and Safety regulations and requirements\nâ¢\tElectrical maintenance and proper operation of the wind turbines \nâ¢\tInstalling and retrofitting of key components\nâ¢\tHow to diagnose faults and report on electrical equipment\nâ¢\tHow to collate data and generate reports \nâ¢\tYour will receive training and be required to pass a test in relation to the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) \nâ¢\tHow to complete an electrical maintenance schedule\nâ¢\tHow to carry out risk assessments and method statements \nâ¢\tEssential communication skills required between other technicians and support teams\nâ¢\tThe importance of customer satisfaction and communicating with clients \nâ¢\tYou will learn mechanical skills and complete a range of mechanical tasks. Ideally candidates will have: \n\n- Higher Mathematics, (Nat 5 will be considered)\n- Higher Physics or Chemistry (Nat 5 will be considered) \n- A passion for renewable energy\n- The ability to work as a team and demonstrate excellent work ethics\n- You must be reliable, dependable and demonstrate the importance of Health and Safety in the work place \n- A full, UK driving license by your second year in the Apprenticeship\n- Comfortable with working at height\n- The ability to travel
