Overview
Waters is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to join our global Strategic Planning and M&A Finance team. As a senior member of this high-performing team, you will provide deep, data-driven analyses to solve complex business challenges, support high-impact strategic initiatives, including M&A, and drive decision-making across the organisation. This role will focus on delivering actionable insights through advanced financial modelling, industry analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
1. Business Problem Solving: Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to address critical business challenges by delivering comprehensive financial and operational analyses on a variety of topics such as, prioritisation of key initiatives, development of strategic plans, determining the optimal level of investment and evaluating viability of new product and market initiatives.
2. Strategic Financial Modelling: Lead the development of complex financial models to support decision-making for mergers and acquisitions, market expansions, and other strategic initiatives.
3. Data-Driven Insights: Analyse large datasets to extract actionable insights and provide recommendations that enhance strategic planning, performance, and growth.
4. Executive-Level Communication: Develop and deliver high-quality investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and the board.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the organisation, including Operations, Marketing, and Legal, to support strategic initiatives and drive execution.
6. Ad Hoc Strategic Projects: Contribute to high-priority projects, such as strategic investments, long-term forecasting, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
7. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field;
8. MBA or CFA preferred.
Experience
9. Solid experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, M&A, strategy consulting or a related analytical role.
10. Expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic evaluation of complex business situations.
11. Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and distilling complex analyses into clear recommendations.
12. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial systems (e.g., SAP) and data visualisation tools is a plus.
13. Proven ability to work on multiple high-priority projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
14. Prior experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, M&A transactions, management consulting, or corporate strategy.
