Townley Grammar School is an academically selective and socially responsible girls’ state grammar school with a coeducational Sixth Form. Located in the London Borough of Bexley, Townley was founded in 1937 and has over the years established a tradition of academic excellence, scholastic endeavor and lifelong learning. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious and inspirational teacher of DT and Engineering
The successful candidate will have expert subject knowledge and must be able to teach all Key Stages, including GCSE and A Level. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is suitably motivated and ready to share their expertise and experience with our brilliant young people.
We are very proud that Townley Grammar our students go against many of the national trends in relation to females studying Design & Technology – at present we have over 140 students in both the current year 10 and 11 studying Design and Technology GCSE and the same again in Engineering GCSE along with 30 students at A Level. It is vibrant department which offers a wide range of opportunities for students including visits to Harry Potter and New York. The students are encouraged to participate in competitions. Through the introduction of new Key stage 4 curriculum there will also be the opportunity for students to select subjects the department also delivers such Food, AI and Robotics.
We are looking for a forward thinking, inspirational practitioner to work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver outstanding lessons and to support in the development of the curriculum, raising academic achievement and ensuring all students make outstanding progress.
The post holder will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent, and must be eligible to work in the UK. All staff are expected to be committed to the Equal Opportunities Policy.
