Job Summary The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and processing of financial transactions and procedures, as well as a some element of debtor management. The role will be home based (must reside in the UK) but you may be required to attend various face-to-face meetings in different locations as and when required. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a small, high performing Finance team in a fast-growing business during an exciting period in Psychiatry-UK’s evolution. Responsibilities and Duties The post holder will have a variety of tasks, including the following. This list is not exhaustive, and Finance staff could be asked to perform a wider variety of duties to ensure resilience across the team. Description of Duties Assist with the preparation of monthly finance packs for the board. Ensure all control account balances are reconciled monthly. Produce complex overhead accruals and prepayments for all entities. Ensure all group recharges are accurately processed each month. Build upon and lead a credit control team to ensure debts are recovered in a timely manner, with fortnightly reporting to the Financial Controller on progress/results. Assist in the ongoing implementation of budgeting for the group. Prepare quarterly VAT returns for approval. Risk register reporting. Liaise with and provide information to external auditor. Analyse project expenditure and communicate this with project managers. Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation of overhead analysis, to include the use of excel to present information. Assist in the year end audit and annual work in progress verification exercise. Complete ad hoc project work as directed by the Financial Controller. Maintain a culture of openness, trust and cooperation between staff and Senior Management. Develop/write Standard Operating Procedures as the team grows and new processes are implemented. Ensure all financial accounts and reporting are undertaken in a timely, accurate manner and in accordance with accounting standards and Group policies. Timely provision of insightful report information for management (monthly, annually, ad-hoc) for financial reports and any other project-based information requests. Assist with budgets and cash-flow and monitor these highlighting any risks and assisting the business in using their financial resources effectively. Ad hoc duties as required from time to time by the Senior Management Team. Plan own workload to ensure that tasks are met. Prioritise workload with consideration to issues arising and responding to shifting priorities appropriately. Actively participate in regular supervision with line manager and the PUK PDR process for maintaining and developing personal skills and meeting agreed objectives. The post holder will attend online training as relevant to the post including mandatory training courses i.e. Information Governance, safeguarding, Health and Safety courses etc Person Specification Essential Qualifications and Skills: CIMA/ACCA Qualified Advanced MS Excel skills Familiarity with Sage Intacct Familiarity with Sage products Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure. Attention to detail with the ability to detect numerical errors. Strong organisational and time management skills. Good communication skills. Entrepreneurial and self-starting mind set Desirable Qualifications and Skills Knowledge and understanding of the financial workings of growing business Healthcare / health-tech business sector experience Knowledge of PAYE and VAT legislation.
