Job Title : Head of Health & Safety Contract Type : Full time / 37.5 hours Monday to Friday / Permanent Location : Hybrid / Northwich Salary: up to £75,000 £4,320 cash car allowance bonus excellent benefits Due to an internal move, Residential Management Group (RMG), one of the UK’s largest Property Management companies, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, strategic Head of Health & Safety to oversee our Health and Safety Management System. This is a hybrid role, spending 2 - 3 days at the Northwich Office and the remainder working from home. What is the role? The Head of Health & Safety is crucial to ensuring strict compliance with H&S regulations across our operations, including our Public Sector Housing Solutions Service (HSS) contract. You will work closely with our parent company, Places for People (PfP), to promote a safe environment for clients and colleagues. You will develop RMG’s compliance with current, changing or new legislation and guidance, ensuring commercial risks/benefits/costs are fully considered. What are some of the key responsibilities: Manage the work of a small team of H&S professionals, including the Fire Safety Manager, providing a comprehensive management system of Health, Safety, Environmental, Fire and Building Compliance to both RMG and Clients. Develop and maintain a system of reporting, feedback and management information to ensure identified Health, Safety, Environment and Building compliance issues are acted upon in a timely way and that all stakeholders are provided with appropriate and specific information/guidance from which decisions can be made. Feed into RMG’s risk management process, by identifying arising risks and providing proposals to mitigate. Thorough knowledge of the risks associated with Health, Safety and Environment and responsible for the exercise of effective control through the monitoring of Key Risk Indicators. Provide expert knowledge of Health, Safety, Fire and Environment legislation and regulations and their application to property management. Responsive to new and developing areas of H&S, Fire, Environment and Building compliance and regulation, advising the business on the strategic implications in good time to enable positioning and preparation. Attend PfP H&S Compliance Board meetings and working groups to share best practices and develop new initiatives. What Skills, Qualifications and Experience are we looking for from our Head of H&S? Essential: Expert knowledge of Health, Safety, Fire and building legislation, and their application to residential property management. Ability to conduct a gap analysis of Health & Safety compliance and develop plans to achieve best practice. Proactive in interpreting new Health & Safety/Fire Regulations and assessing their impact on the business. Strong relationship-building skills and communication skills Nebosh diploma, Nebosh Fire, IEMA, CMIOSH, AIFE. Preferred: Experience managing Health, Safety, Fire and building compliance within a residential property management context.
