A highly reputable and large Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in Enfield is seeking a passionate and dynamic Subject Leader for Business and Economics to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a successful and growing department within an outstanding educational environment.
As Subject Leader for Business and Economics, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the subject area across Key Stages 4 and 5. The role offers the opportunity to shape the curriculum, drive academic excellence, and lead a team of dedicated professionals in a thriving school.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
* Develop and implement strategies to raise student achievement and progress within the department.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students, identifying areas for development.
* Lead the design and delivery of a broad and engaging curriculum for both Business and Economics.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create innovative resources and teaching strategies.
* Provide regular professional development for staff within the department.
* Ensure that students are prepared for GCSEs, A-Levels, and other qualifications.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and challenging learning environment.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject.
* Proven experience teaching Business and Economics at Key Stage 4 and 5.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced educational setting.
* A passion for Business and Economics education and a drive to help students succeed.
* Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
* Experience in leadership roles, particularly as a Subject Leader or Head of Department.
* An understanding of current educational trends and best practices.
* A track record of raising achievement in Business and Economics.
