The role
As a Procurement Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be supporting the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and partners in delivering next-gen submarine capabilities, enhancing availability and through-life performance of in-service submarines.
Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide Babcock's in-service submarine supply chain support and expertise, ensuring strategic outcomes for the MoD.
Key responsibilities include:
* Challenge and manage key internal stakeholders to enable transformative practices
* Introduce innovative ideas from the supply chain
* Oversee procurement activities and project delivery
* Deliver and present best practice supply chain reporting, knowledge, and expertise
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Procurement Manager
* Proven experience in strategic supply chain planning, transformation, or global sourcing.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries
* Commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain risk
* Experience in delivering supply chain improvements
Qualifications for the Procurement Manager
* MCIPS accreditation or willingness to work towards this as part of Continuous Professional Development is essential
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
