Job summary An exciting opportunity to work within a thriving and popular evening GP service where patients can have access to primary care services ( GPs. Nurses and HCAs) outside of normal hours. This role is pivotal to the delivery of the service and the medical receptionist will be the first point of contact for our service users. The successful candidate should be confident in dealing with people face to face and be able to work unsupervised. Previous experience working within a GP practice would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. Looking initially for 2 evenings per week (Mondays and Tuesdays) with the opportunity to work more hours if needed. Main duties of the job To provide general Receptionist duties for the enhanced hours service, including the arrival of patients into the service, dealing with patient queries, preparing the working environment and equipment for our clinical staff and dealing with any query or concern raised by our patients, staff or member practices. Job Responsibilities: Ensure all patients arriving at the service receive a prompt and warm welcome. Provide the enhanced access team with admininstrative support during the session ( may include a GP, Nurse and HCA) To use EMIS, our clinical records system, to ensure patients are registered correctly and confirm their details are correct. Manage any cancellations or appointment queries, rebooking or moving where required. Establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or electronic information is easily accessible and secure. Initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to communicate with patients regarding their appointments. Maintain adequate supplies of office stationery in order to perform Reception duties and support the Clinical team with ordering and requesting stock. Ensure that working environments are tidy and equipment locked away at the end of each session.
